Wilmington NC Monday Market Update

Happy Monday!  Although we've had the summer heat for a few weeks, it's official now, today was the first day of summer.

The big news this week is Senate OKing a new tax credit closing deadline.

The Senate has amended a bill to give homebuyers who were under contract on a home purchase by April 30 an additional three months to close the deal and claim the federal homebuyer tax credit.  Although this won't help homeowners that are not under contract, this will go a long way in helping the back log of closings that are lined up to close by the original June 30th deadline.  The new closing deadline is September 30th.  If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call.

Interest rates are still great and the supply of homes in our market is still around 13 months.  If a purchase is in your future, there's no time like the present.
