Monday Market Update - January 4, 2010
Happy New Year!
I hope you had a safe and Happy Celebration! I started the New Year with a 
dip in the Atlantic Ocean with my kids (James and Maggie - both 5 years old). Well, not really a dip but a really quick run in the water until the water was at our knees and then we turned around screaming to get out. No child torture involved just a spirited event with a few thousand of our closest friends to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. About $6,000 was raised so it was all worth it! A great way to ring in the New Year!
Experts in our industry are saying that 2011 will probably be similar to our 2010 market. The ever optimist that I am predicts that it will be better but as with most everything in life, hard times yield great opportunities. So, for all you fence stradlers who have been considering buying up, nows your chance. Yes, the value of your home may be less than it was a few years ago but the home you are looking to move up to has most likely dropped in value even more. In addition, you are also looking at historic low interest rates and high inventory of homes available. There may never be a better opportunity to "move up."
