Wrightsville Beach Named One of the Best Surf Towns in the World
We know how great the surfing is in Wrightsville Beach. Now, thousands more will too! 
National Geographic named Wrightsville Beach as one of the top 20 Best Surf Towns in the world. Chosen due to its whole family appeal, Wrightsville Beach ranks right along with Byron Bay, Australia, and Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii.
Waves weren't the only deciding factor for the list. The World's 20 Best Surf Towns were chosen according to the "magical sum of consistent waves, inviting accommodations, friendly locals, fun nightlife, delicious food, and plenty of activities should the ocean go flat." National Geographic cited for its "trademark mix of sleepy southern beach town and growing metropolis. Think catfish with caviar or barbecue with Beaujolais."
