Site Selection Names North Carolina “Top Business Climate”
For the tenth year out of the past twelve, Site Selection Magazine, the official publication of the Industrial Asset Management Council, has named North Carolina the “Top Business Climate” in the Nation. They cite “North Carolina's combination of work-force availability and skill sets of interest to
employers, proactive business-development agencies, logistics assets and higher education infrastructure” as the reason why it took the top spot this year.
Ranking is determined by a survey of corporate site selectors (50% of the final decision), the state’s most recent Governor’s Cup ranking, Competitiveness Ranking, Mature Firm Tax Rank, New Firm Tax Rank, and the number of new projects logged into Site Selection’s database that fit “a minimum investment of US$1 million, 50 or more new jobs or new space of 20,000 sq. ft. or more.” A more detail explanation can be found in their announcement.
This is wonderful news and we hope it continues to spur the interest of corporate site locators and facility planners now and into the future. These site locators bring our area new jobs that help improve our local economy and the life of our fellow residents.
