Surfers, wakeboarders, kneeboarders, skiers, and fishing (wake, pier, and deep) enthusiasts are found here year-round.

Summer activities center around the boardwalk, quaint shops and restaraunts line the beach, and locally caught seafood is abound. During certain months, visitors and residents can enjoy weekly fireworks, outdoor films, and musical performances. They can also rent paddleboats on Carolina Beach Lake or head a few miles south to Kure Beach to visit the NC Fort Fisher Aquarium and the adjacent Fort Fisher Historical Museum. Additionally, Carolina Beach is home to the Annual Beach Music Festival and Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival.
